- 5 lbs ripe pears, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Place chopped pears in a large pot with lemon juice.
- Cook on medium heat until pears soften, stirring occasionally.
- Add sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 1-2 hours until thick.
- Blend mixture until smooth.
- Pour into sterilized jars and store in the fridge.

- Use ripe pears for the best flavor.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- Store in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
