- 8 oz (225g) spaghetti or linguine
- 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 1-2 minutes until garlic is golden but not burnt.
- Drain pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- Add cooked pasta to the pan with garlic oil, toss to coat.
- Pour in reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
- Season with salt, pepper, and parsley, then toss again.
- Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
