- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually pour in boiling water while stirring. The batter will be thin.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the cake light.
- For extra moisture, brush the cake layers with simple syrup before frosting.
