- 4 lbs ripe pears, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Combine chopped pears, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a large pot.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until pears soften (about 20 minutes).
- Use an immersion blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
- Continue cooking on low heat, stirring frequently, until thickened (about 1 hour).
- Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to jars.
Notes
- Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- For longer storage, freeze in freezer-safe containers.
