Description

This recipe delivers tender, juicy chicken breasts coated in a flavorful, herby ranch seasoning blend, then pan-seared to golden perfection. It’s a simple, one-pan dinner ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6 oz / 170g each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 packet (1 oz / 28g) dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Place them on a plate or in a shallow dish.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the dry ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Rub this mixture evenly over all sides of the chicken breasts.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts. Cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C). Transfer the chicken to a plate and cover loosely with foil.
  4. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the sauce simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly reduced.
  6. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Garnish with chopped parsley if using. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of cold water and stir it into the broth after scraping the pan.
  • You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts. Adjust cooking time to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • Leftovers keep well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
