Ingredients

- 500g minced lamb or beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 250g plain flour
- 100g lard or butter
- 100ml cold water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Mix minced meat, onion, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, pepper, and salt in a bowl.
- For the pastry, rub lard into flour until crumbly. Add water and knead into a dough.
- Roll out two-thirds of the dough and line a pie tin. Fill with the meat mixture.
- Roll out the remaining dough for the lid. Seal edges and cut a small hole in the center.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Use hot water pastry for a crispier crust.
- Let the pie cool slightly before serving.
